Biogas plants

Biogas systems are based on wet organic biomass (waste) decomposing in an airtight tank, where bacteria break down the material (an anaerobe process). They will release biogas that is a mixture of mainly methane with some carbon dioxide. The biogas can be burned as a smoke free fuel for cooking, heating, light, generator power or other purposes. The solid residue can be used as an organic fertilizer.

Biogas system can be fed by different organic wastes, such as cow dung, human waste (from toilets), food waste etc., i.e. wastes that could cause health problems due to flies and contamination of water resources etc. That means that biogas plants could help get rid of unhealthy organic wastes

The smokeless biogas instead of firewood for cooking will help prevent lung diseases and premature deaths due indoor air pollution caused by smoke and soot.

The residues produced by the biogas plant makes a good fertilizer that can be used for the crops, thereby enabling the use of the same crop fields year after year.

Benefits:

  • Provides you ‘free’ gas, heat, light and power, thereby saving money on petrol, kerosene, LPG, candles, batteries etc.;
  • Provides ‘free’ fertilizer, improving crops and enables the use of the same fields year after year;
  • Less problem with flies and contamination of water resources;
  • Positive impact on health (less unhealthy smoke and waste);
  • Saves the forest from being chopped down;
  • It helps saving the environment and climate.

We have family biogas plants of different sizes and uses.
